Who we are

Marshall Textiles is a textile repair, alteration and manufacture business based at 25 Beech Road, St Austell, Cornwall, PL25 4TS, registered in England and Wales under company number 14208286. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

What information we collect

We only collect what we need to quote for and carry out your work.

• When you send us a job ticket or enquiry: your name, email address, phone number if you give us one, the service you are asking about, and whatever you tell us about the job.
• When you contact us directly: the contents of your email, letter, phone call or message, and the details you give us in it.
• When you become a customer: records of the work we carried out, what it cost and when it was paid.
• When you visit this website: technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you looked at and how you arrived, collected through cookies as described below.

We do not take card or bank details through this website, and we do not ask for any special category information such as health or ethnicity.

How we use your information, and our lawful basis

• To answer your enquiry and give you a price — necessary to take steps towards a contract with you, or in our legitimate interests to respond to someone who has contacted us.
• To carry out the work and deal with you about it — necessary to perform our contract with you.
• To keep proper business, accounting and tax records — necessary to comply with our legal obligations.
• To understand how this website is used and keep it working properly — our legitimate interests, and your consent where non-essential cookies are involved.
• To send you marketing, if you have asked for it — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We do not sell or rent your information to anyone. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that has any legal effect on you.

Cookies and website analytics

This website is built on HubSpot, which sets cookies to make the site work, to remember your cookie choices, and to measure how the site is used — for example which pages are visited and whether a job ticket was submitted. Some cookies are essential to the site functioning; the rest are only set where you have agreed through the cookie notice.

You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time through the cookie notice, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working.

Who we share your information with

We keep your information to ourselves and to the suppliers who help us run the business. We share it with:

• HubSpot, who provide this website, the enquiry form and the customer records system, and who process your information on our instructions.
• Our accountant and, where required, HMRC, for the financial records we are obliged to keep.
• Professional advisers or the authorities, where we are required to by law.

We do not pass your details to other companies for their own marketing.

Where your information is stored

Our HubSpot account is hosted in the European Union. HubSpot is a US company, so your information may in some circumstances be transferred outside the UK and the EU. Where that happens it is protected by the safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, together with HubSpot's own data processing terms.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 24 months, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us, then deleted.
• Customer and job records: six years after the end of the tax year the work relates to, which is the period we are required to keep financial records for.
• Marketing consent: until you withdraw it, plus a record of the withdrawal so we do not contact you again by mistake.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• have inaccurate information corrected;
• ask us to delete your information, where we have no continuing reason to keep it;
• ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it for our legitimate interests;
• ask us to transfer it to you or to someone else in a portable form;
• withdraw your consent at any time, where consent is what we rely on.

To exercise any of these, email info@marshalltextiles.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is no charge, and we will not treat you any differently for asking.

Marketing

We will only send you marketing if you have ticked to say you want it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just reply or ring us and ask to be taken off. Asking us not to market to you does not stop us contacting you about a job you have with us.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top.

How to complain

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
