Repair Alter Make
Bike leathers, boat canopies, car seats, curtains and the sewing machine itself. If it's made of fabric, we can repair it, alter it or make it from scratch — in our St Austell workshop, since 1998.
What comes through the door
Every fabric. One workshop.
Most repairers do one thing. We do all of it, under one roof, and we service the machines too. Not sure who fixes that? We do.
Tailoring & Alterations

Word of mouth
Don't take our word for it
Five stars on Google, and the stories behind them are better than the stars.
“Could not fault Lisa and Shaun, sent some motorcycle trousers from Derby to Cornwall. Sent them Friday and received them back Monday. They done everything I asked for and went above and beyond.”
Dom Dawes · Google review“I took a rear leather car seat here to have a small seam repair done. They did an excellent job and very reasonable, much less than the three others I contacted quoting between £85 to £110.”
David Hardwick · Google review“I have had motorcycle leathers and Kevlar Jeans altered here. Top quality repairs and service.”
Clive Acraman · Google reviewSean & Lisa
Two people.
Twenty years.
Any fabric.
Sean served his apprenticeship as a sewing machine engineer and spent years making drysuits for commercial divers. Lisa has been sewing since school and there isn't much fabric she hasn't worked with.
The business started in Derby in 1998. When Sean and Lisa moved to Cornwall, the workshop came with them, and customers from their Derby days still post work down rather than trust it to anyone closer. These days, 25 Beech Road is where St Austell brings the things worth saving: the jacket, the canopy, the seat, the chair your granddad sat in. Ring the workshop and you'll get one of them. Not a call centre.

The other side of the counter
We fix the machines too
Industrial and domestic sewing machine sales, servicing, repairs and parts, plus sharpening for scissors and tools. If your machine's playing up, bring it in before you replace it.
